1. Who We Are

Fanfare is operated by Fanfare 51 Ltd, registered in England and Wales. Our registered office is at 66 Paul Street, London, EC2A. We are the data controller for the personal data collected through the Fanfare platform.

2. What Data We Collect

2.1 Buyers

When you create a buyer account or place an order, we collect:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your delivery address (for delivery orders only)

We do not collect payment card details. All payment information is handled directly by Stripe.

2.2 Sellers

When you register as a seller, we collect:

• For individual artists: your name and address
• For label accounts: your business name and registered address, and the name and contact details of the account holder

Additional information required for Stripe Connect onboarding (such as bank account details) is collected and held by Stripe, not by Fanfare.

2.3 Usage data

We collect data about how you use the Fanfare website, including pages visited, time spent on the platform, and actions taken. This is collected via Google Analytics and the Meta pixel (Facebook). See section 5 for more information about these third-party tools.

3. How We Use Your Data

3.1 Buyers

We use your data to:

• Process and fulfil your orders
• Send you order confirmations, receipts, and collection reminders
• Maintain your account and saved preferences
• Send you marketing communications where you have opted in
• Comply with our legal obligations

3.2 Sellers

We use your data to:

• Set up and manage your seller account
• Process subscription payments and commission deductions
• Provide you with sales reporting and platform communications
• Send you marketing and feature update communications where you have opted in
• Comply with our legal obligations

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases under UK GDPR:

• Contract: processing necessary to fulfil your order or manage your seller account
• Legitimate interests: fraud prevention, platform security, and improving our services
• Consent: marketing communications, where you have opted in
• Legal obligation: compliance with applicable law

5. Third-Party Services

5.1 Stripe

All payments on Fanfare are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects and processes payment data as an independent data controller. Stripe may transfer and process data in the United States under standard contractual clauses and other appropriate safeguards. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/gb/privacy.

5.2 Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Fanfare website. Google Analytics collects data including your IP address, device type, and browsing behaviour on our site. This data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

5.3 Meta Pixel

We use the Meta pixel (Facebook) on the Fanfare website to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and to reach relevant audiences. The Meta pixel may collect data about your visit to our website and your interactions with it. This data is processed by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd and may be transferred to the United States. Meta's data policy is available at facebook.com/policy.

6. Cookies

The Fanfare website uses cookies to support core functionality, analytics, and marketing. When you visit the site, you will be shown a cookie consent notice. You can manage your cookie preferences at any time through that notice or your browser settings.

The Fanfare mobile app does not use cookies.

7. International Data Transfers

Some of our third-party service providers, including Stripe, Google, and Meta, may transfer and process your data outside the United Kingdom. Where this occurs, it is subject to appropriate safeguards including standard contractual clauses approved by the UK Information Commissioner's Office.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, including:

• Account data: for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period thereafter to resolve any disputes or comply with legal obligations
• Order data: for seven years to comply with financial record-keeping requirements
• Marketing consent records: until you withdraw consent, plus a reasonable period thereafter

When we no longer need your data, we will delete or anonymise it securely.

9. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

• The right to access the personal data we hold about you
• The right to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• The right to erasure ('right to be forgotten') in certain circumstances
• The right to restrict processing in certain circumstances

• The right to object to processing based on legitimate interests
• The right to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

10. Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. All data transmitted between your device and the Fanfare platform is encrypted using HTTPS. Payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe and is never stored by Fanfare.

11. Children

The Fanfare platform is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, please contact us at hello@wearefanfare.uk and we will delete it promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email with at least 14 days' notice before they take effect. The current version of the policy is always available on the Fanfare website and in the app.
